Off the Beaten Path: Pangea House

Some places offer a place to stay. Others offer an experience. Pangea House brings together travel, hospitality, and a love of community to create something truly unique.

Located just a short walk from the waterfront and downtown, Pangea House is a boutique guesthouse that offers visitors a stay that feels personal, creative, and memorable.

But what really makes Pangea House special is the story behind it.

A Dream Built on Adventure

Pangea House is the vision of Jody Lundrigan and Geoff Dennis, whose shared love of travel, food, and adventure inspired them to create a space where guests can experience a bit of the world in one place.

Jody grew up in a small town in southern Newfoundland, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and a strong sense of community. Raised by parents who were lifelong volunteers, she developed a deep appreciation for community-building and helping others, values that shaped much of her career in the non-profit sector.

When she arrived in Gananoque, she immediately felt at home. Drawn to the water and the surrounding nature, she quickly embraced everything the area has to offer, spending her spare time exploring the outdoors in every season.

While Jody brings the community-minded vision to Pangea House, Geoff brings decades of culinary experience.

A chef for nearly twenty years in Toronto, Geoff has worked across the food world, from fine dining kitchens to brewpubs, developing a style that blends creativity, travel inspiration, and genuine hospitality.

Geoff’s cooking is heavily influenced by travel. Wherever he goes, he seeks out street food and local cuisine, drawing inspiration from the flavours and techniques he discovers. Those experiences inform the menus he creates today.

Travel the World Without Leaving Your Room

The concept of Pangea House itself reflects the owners’ love of travel. Inspired by the ancient supercontinent “Pangea,” when all the Earth’s land was once connected, each guest room is designed to represent a different continent.

Guests can stay in rooms inspired by places like Africa, Asia, Australia, Antarctica, and South America. Each space reflects elements of the continent it represents, giving every room its own personality and sense of place. It’s a creative and immersive idea that turns an overnight stay into something a little more memorable.

The house itself is a striking historic home full of character, blending heritage charm with thoughtful modern touches. Cozy common spaces, carefully designed guest rooms, and welcoming hospitality make it easy for guests to relax and feel at home.

Visitors often remark that staying at Pangea House feels less like checking into a hotel and more like being welcomed into a home.

Why You Should Visit

Pangea House is the culmination of Jody and Geoff’s travels, experiences, and dreams. It’s a place where community, creativity, and hospitality come together to create something truly special.

Whether you're planning a weekend getaway, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking for a unique place to stay, Pangea House offers an experience that feels personal, welcoming, and unforgettable.
